Ireland Industrial Output Growth Picks Up to 5.4% YoY
Industrial production in Ireland rose 5.4 percent year-on-year in October 2019, following an upwardly revised 4.3 percent increase in the previous month. Manufacturing output advanced 5.1 percent, rebounding from a 3.7 percent slump in September, amid a recovery in textiles, wearing apparel & leather (8.4 percent vs -27.6 percent) and wood & wood products, except furniture (17.5 percent vs -1.7 percent). Also, output continued to increase for transport equipment (22.8 percent vs 16.1 percent) and rubber & plastic products (29.9 percent vs 35.3 percent). On the other hand, production fell for metals & metal products (-4.9 percent vs-17.3 percent); electrical equipment (-3.2 percent vs 38.3 percent) and paper & paper products; printing & reproduction of recorded media (-10.7 percent vs -15.6 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial output edged down 0.1 percent, after an 8.7 percent slump in September.

Irish Industrial Output Rebounds in September
Ireland's industrial production surged 4.2 percent from a year earlier in September 2019, following three consecutive months of contraction, led by a rebound in manufacturing output (4.1 percent vs -6.9 percent in August). Food products production rose sharply (10.3 percent vs 3.1 percent), as well as basic metals and fabricated metal products (13.2 percent vs 10.4 percent), electrical equipment (14.2 percent vs 10.4 percent), rubber and plastics products (13 percent vs -12.2 percent), and textiles, wearing apparel and leather related products (8.7 percent vs 13.1 percent).

Irish Industrial Output Falls for 3rd Month
Ireland's industrial production shrank 6.3 percent from a year earlier in August 2019, following a revised 0.3 percent contraction in the prior month, due to a sharp decline in manufacturing output (-7.2 percent vs -1.5 percent). Within manufacturing, production fell for rubber & plastic products (-12.4 percent vs -10.9 percent), while increases were seen in basic metals & fabricated metal products (13.8 percent vs 27.0 percent), food products (2.2 percent vs 11.4 percent), transport equipment (5.6 percent vs 0.1 percent) and electrical equipment (3.7 percent vs -5.0 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial production advanced 1.1 percent, after a 1.7 percent surge in July.

Ireland Industrial Output Falls Less in July
Ireland's industrial production shrank 0.7 percent from a year earlier in July 2019, following an upwardly revised 3.3 percent decline in the prior month, as manufacturing output fell at a softer pace (-1.5 percent vs -3.6 percent). Within manufacturing, production rebounded for food products (11.2 percent vs -4.2 percent); transport equipment (0.1 percent vs -3.1 percent) and electrical equipment (16.1 percent vs -13.7 percent) while decreased further for rubber & plastics (-11.3 percent vs -9.3 percent) and paper and paper products (-3.3 percent vs -0.8 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial production rose 1.4 percent, recovering from an upwardly revised 9.7 percent plunge in the previous month.

Irish Industrial Output Drops 1.7% in June
Ireland's industrial production fell 1.7 percent from a year earlier in June 2019, following a 7.6 percent growth in the previous month, as manufacturing output dropped 2.1 percent (vs 7.2 percent in May). Within manufacturing, output contracted for food products (-4.3 percent vs 2.5 percent); rubber and plastic products (-7.9 percent vs -5.7 percent); paper and paper products (-2.2 percent vs 11.8 percent); and transport equipment (-1.8 percent vs -2 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial production plunged 8.8 percent.

Irish Industrial Output Rises 6.3% in May
Ireland's industrial production rose 6.3 percent from a year earlier in May 2019, following an upwardly revised 7.8 percent growth in the previous month. Manufacturing output increased 6.1 percent (vs 7.5 percent in April), boosted by paper and paper products; Printing and reproduction of recorded media (12.8 percent vs 23.0 percent); basic metals and fabricated metal products (9.5 percent vs 22.9 percent); and electrical equipment (35.1 percent vs 16.2 percent). Also, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply grew 16.5 percent, faster than 13.3 percent in April. On a monthly basis, industrial production rose 2.3 percent in May, the fifth consecutive month of expansion.
